Don’t miss a visit to Birks Cinema, a fully restored art-deco cinema situated in Aberfeldy town square. You can watch the latest movies and live events in a state of the art auditorium.
The Pitlochry Festival Theatre internationally renowned arts theatre based in Pitlochry runs a unique summer repertoire system that allows you to see a different performance every night of the week.
The Aberfeldy Watermill is a bookshop, art gallery and cafe housed in a three-storey converted mill in Aberfeldy. It was awarded UK Independent Bookshop of the Year in 2009 and included in the New Yorker book of 75 Greatest Bookstores in the World in 2016. Well worth a visit if you love books.
Castle Menzies is a spectacular sixteenth century castle just a mile from Aberfeldy. Restored in the twentieth century, we recommend you take a tour and explore. You can see the Menzies Claymore (sword) used by the chief at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
The Scottish Crannog Centre is an authentic reconstruction of an Iron Age loch-dwelling. Located on Loch Tay, experience the life of original Crannog dwellers and take part in demonstrations of textiles, cooking and ancient crafts.
The Fortingall Yew - a heritage tree situated in the grounds of the 18th century Fortingall Church. The yew tree is believed to be between 3000 - 9000 years old and one of the oldest living things in Europe. Take time and soak in the spirit of nature to restore your soul.
Pitlochry Dam and Fish Ladder is an engineering wonder that transformed the Highlands! The Fish Ladder is an integral part of the dam design that allows Atlantic Salmon to migrate up the river to their breeding grounds. The new visitors centre offers breathtaking views of the dam and Loch Faskally. There is plenty of easy parking outside the visitor centre.
